Hot on the heels of the “Easy Carp Rigs” booklet, I have been sent another in the current set, “Easy Match Rigs” to have a look at.

This very handy reference book covers how to set-up the feeder, in-line feeder, float fishing the “lift method”, various waggler and slider rigs, and numerous pole rigs.

As with the “Easy Carp Rig” booklet, each method or rig described comes with a list of items required to construct the rig. There are also fool-proof step-by-step photographs that explain visually how to build the rig.

There is also a section on hook patterns explaining why and how each hook is designed for a particular purpose and why you should use it, plus a detailed chapter on knot tying.

If this wasn’t enough, there is a final chapter detailing general methods, baits, mixing bait, feeding, hook baits etc. All in all a very useful read and reference book.

So, if you wish to “brush up” on your freshwater rig tying, or are a beginner to this sport, the Easy Match and the Easy Carp booklets are an excellent means to achieve perfect rig tying, half the battle some might say, when seeking great catches and memorable days by the water!
