Located in Rathmullan, in North Donegal, Rathmullan Charters specialize in Wreck, Reef, Tope and Shark Fishing. We also provide Sight seeing & Corporate Trips, Evening Fishing Trips & Cruises.

Matching an experienced crew with our state of the art fleet in rich fishing waters and spectacular scenery, we are sure we have everything to cater for you on-the-water.

Rathmullan Charters are now taking bookings for this season starting in mid April.  Groups up to 10 persons - £300 sterling with rods and reels supplied free of charge. Excellent tope fishing from mid May.

Species

Over 30 species of sea fish are available in the Lough Swilly area.

General fishing produces excellent catches of pollack, coalfish, cod, haddock, whiting and thornback ray.

Lough Swilly is famous for the hard fighting tope which run the lough from May and average 30-40 lbs. Many 1st and 2nd world war wrecks lie just offshore from Rathmullan, the nearest being the "Laurentic" in 120ft of water.

Pollack, ling, coalfish, blue shark, porbeagle shark and congar are plentiful here with a real chance of specimen sized fish.

Blue shark appear in good numbers around the end of August and provide exciting sport.

Fleet

Our fleet consists of two state of the art boats designed specifically for Rathmullan Charters and the needs of our crew and passengers. Both boats are equipped with everything required to provide you with the perfect fishing or touring experience.

 "Swilly Explorer"

New to 2005 the interceptor 42 motor cruiser has a Scania 500 hp engine, with a maximum speed of 24 knots. The cabin is Spacious and luxurious, and comprises of a galley, toilet and leads onto a large aft deck space. The Swilly Explorer has state of the art Furuno electronics and all up to date safety equipment. It is licenced by the department of marine to carry up to 12 passengers and 2 crew.

"Enterprise 1"

The Enterprise 1 is a "38ft Aquastar", has a 225 hp John Deere engine, with a max speed of 18 knots. The Enterprise 1 has a full range of JRC electronics, it has full safety equipment, and comprises of a galley, toilet facilities and seating.The Enterprise 1 is licenced by the department of marine to carry 12 passengers and 2 crew. There is also tea/coffee and light refreshments available.

Both boats were designed and purpose built for Rathmullan Charters to provide state of the art sea angling and leisure cruise services.

Boats are easily boarded via our own new floating pontoon built in 2011.
