Running Ledger (Flatfish, Gurnard, Dogfish)

Although this boat rig will pick up most bottom-dwelling salt-water species, it really comes into its own when drift-fishing for flat-fish, and in particular, Plaice. Using a tubi-boom or similar to avoid tangles, all three hooks are fished firmly on the sea-bed. The small flicker spoons add vibration, movement, colour and disturbance, and the larger "sonar" spoon on the point offers similar qualities, but keeps the whole rig straightened out and tight to the sea-bed. This rig works particularly well when constructed in lengths from three-six metres, which offers natural movement to the hook-baits whilst drifting.
